The purpose of this chapter is to impose a surcharge on all building, zoning, environmental, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plan check and permit fees in order to fund the continued amendment and maintenance of the general plan of the city of Long Beach to at all times ensure the legal viability and adequacy of such plan. (ORD-05-0022 § 1, 2005).

There shall be added to each building, zoning, environmental, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plan check and permit fees, imposed or authorized by the city, a surcharge in an amount as set forth in the schedule of fees and charges established by city council resolution. The city manager is authorized to establish appropriate procedures to carry out the provisions of this chapter. (ORD-06-0039 § 2, 2006: ORD-05-0022 § 1, 2005).
